Etravirine is a second-generation Nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) anti-retroviral. It is active against HIV with mutations that confer resistance to the two most commonly prescribed first-generation NNRTIs, mutation K103N for efavirenz and Y181C for nevirapine.
