Col003 is a cell penetrant, selective and potent inhibitor of the interaction of Hsp47 with collagen. It binds to the collagen binding site on Hsp47. Col003 inhibits a collagen secretion by destabilization the collagen triple helix. Additionally Col003 weakly inhibits interaction of collagen with prolyl 4-hydroxylase (P4H).
