CD1530 is a potent and selective agonist of retinoic acid receptor RARγ with Kd values of 150, 1,500, and 2,750 nM for RARγ, RARβ, and RARα receptors, respectively. In various studies, CD1530 has been shown to preserve human tendon stem cell characteristics, promote repair of injured skeletal muscle, and in combination with bexarotene to inhibit oral carcinogenesis.
