Secretin human has been used:in the radioimmunoassay with oxyntomodulinto test its effect on the enlargement and swelling of human endoderm stem cells (hEnSCs) derived cystto stimulate human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-derived biliary cells in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) assays to test its effect on cAMP production

Secretin regulates the secretion of gastric acid and pancreatic bicarbonates. It serves as an antidiuretic hormone in the neurohypophysial-renal axis and participates in osmoregulation. Secretin mediates its function through the G-protein coupled secretin receptors. It regulates the pH of the duodenal by modulating gastric acid secretion.

General description

Secretin is a gastrointestinal hormone and a neuropeptide. It is synthesized from a precursor protein and shares sequence homology with other secretin family proteins like glucagon and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP).
