Biochem/physiol Actions
?-Methyl-DL-tyrosine (?-MT) prevents hyperactivity, sniffing-licking-gnawing syndrome, anorexia and ameliorates certain effects of amphetamine. It inhibits dopamine production and prevents apoptosis stimulated by mutant ?-synuclein.
Tyrosine hydroxylase inhibitor.
