Phosphatase, Alkaline from calf intestinal mucosa, for enzyme immunoassay, solution (clear, colorles

Application

Alkaline phosphatase is used in the laboratory to remove phosphate monoesters which prevents self-ligation. It is also used in the dairy industry to confirm pasturization of milk. Alkaline phosphatse is commonly conjugated to antibodies and used in immunoblotting, ELISA′s, and other antibody based detection assays.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Alkaline phosphatase is a hydrolytic enzyme which dephosphorylates a variety of molecules under basic conditions.

Other Notes

Used in highly sensitive (pg/m) enzyme immunoassays with LCEC detection of phenol; Comparison of three methods for conjugating alkaline phosphatase to human placental lactogen; Preparation of enzyme-antibody conjugates; Liposome immunoassay with antigen-coupled liposomes containing alkaline phosphatase

Sales restrictions may apply

Reconstitution

The solution can be used without dialysis (for enzyme immuno-assay).

Unit Definition

1 U corresponds to the amount of enzyme which hydrolyzes 1 µmol 4-nitrophenyl phosphate per minute at pH 9.8 and 37?°C
