4-Nitrophenyl beta-D-cellobioside, >=98% (TLC)
Application
4-Nitrophenyl ?-D-cellobioside has been used as a substrate to assay ?-D-celluliosidase or cellobiohydrolase (exocellulase) activity in the microbial community. It has also been used as a substrate to study the endoglucanase J30 activity.
Biochem/physiol Actions
4-Nitrophenyl ?-D-cellobioside is a cellotriose analog, and a chromogenic substrate commonly used for the detection of cellulase activity. Exoglucanase, endoglucanase and ? -glucosidase hydrolyze 4-nitrophenyl ?-D-cellobioside to form p-nitrophenol (PNP).
