4-Methylumbelliferyl ?-D-N,N?-diacetylchitobioside hydrate (MUF-diNAG) is an analog of chitin. It is a fluorogenic substrate for chitin depolymerase and its breakdown results in methylumbelliferone, a fluorescent product.
