Suitable for transient and stable transfection of wide range of cell types drug delivery systems
For analysis of bone cement; as standard.?-tri-Calcium phosphate has been used to transfect 293T and 231 cells with the PiggyBac LSS-mOrange- aspartate-glutamate-valine-aspartate (DEVD)-mKate2 transposon vector and in reporter verification studies.
General description
α-tri-Calcium is a tasteless powder containing excess of calcium oxide. It is commonly used to introduce DNA and transfect eukaryotic cells for molecular biology experiments.
?-tri-Calcium phosphate (?-TCP) can be made by heating the low-temperature polymorph ?-TCP. It can also be made by thermal crystallization of amorphous precursors with the appropriate composition above the transformation temperature. ?-TCP is biocompatible as ?-TCP. It is highly soluble and hydrolyses quickly to calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite. This makes ?-TCP a beneficial constituent for formulating self-setting osteotransductive bone cements and biodegradable bioceramics and composites for bone repairing.
