IFN-? 2 (Ifnl2) belongs to the type III interferon (IFN-?) family of proteins. It is associated with antiviral, antitumor and immune activities. In a retinal autoimmunity mouse model, Ifnl2 increases the autoimmune disease. Ifnl2 signals via IFN (interferon)-? receptor complex consisting of IL-10R? (interleukin 10 receptor ?) and the IL-28R? chains. The signaling pathway involves JAK1 (Janus kinase 1)/TYK2 (non-receptor tyrosine-protein kinase) tyrosine kinases, transcription factor complex IFN-stimulated gene factor 3 containing STAT1 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 1), STAT2 and IFN regulatory factor (IRF)-9.Recombinant murine IFN-l2 is a 19.8kDa protein containing 175 amino acid residues.
Physical form
Lyophilized from 20 mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.5.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
