Amersham Rapid-hyb Buffer sufficient for 4000 cm2 membrane
A major limitation of membrane hybridization is speed. At commonly used probe concentrations (2 to 10ng/mL), hybridization normally takes 16h to detect single-copy gene sequences in mammalian DNA. Use of Rapid-hyb Buffer reduces this time to 2h using similar probe concentrations.
