If there is a protein residue present, the reagent will turn purple. The more contamination, the quicker the colour changes and the darker it becomes. With the PRO-Clean™, no interpretation is required because the results are so clear to read. Protein is more difficult to remove from surfaces than glucose or other residues, so it's a good indicator for surface contamination.
