Increase cell migration and invasion assay productivity with real-time fluorescence. Falcon™ Fluoroblok™ Cell Culture Inserts are designed with a patented light-tight PET membrane that efficiently blocks the transmission of light within the range of 490-700nm. Fluorescently labelled cells present in the top chamber of the insert are made invisible by the Fluoroblok membrane. Once labelled cells migrate through the membrane, they are no longer shielded from the light source and are easily detected with a fluorescence plate reader.

Applications

Falcon™ Fluoroblok™ effectively blocks >99% of the light transmission from 490-700nm, allowing you the flexibility to choose from a variety of fluorophores for bioavailability, toxicity, chemotaxis, cell migration and tumour invasion assays. As long as the fluorophores of choice are within the blocking range of the fluoroblock membrane multiplex detection is also possible.
