Thrombin Receptor Activator Peptide 6 has been used to activate platelets in vitro. It has also been used to downregulate hippo signaling and increase nuclear yes-associated protein (YAP).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Hexapeptide fragment of the thrombin receptor (residues 42-47). Shown to activate the thrombin receptor and cause platelet aggregation (EC50 = 0.8 µM).
General description
Thrombin Receptor Activator Peptide 6 (TRAP-6) protects astrocytes from cell death, which is associated with hypoglycemia. TRAP-6 induced aggregation and impaired adhesion to collagen under flow conditions.
