Biochem/physiol Actions

PKC? (protein kinase C ?) mainly participates in terminal differentiation of keratinocytes. It is responsible for arresting the cell cycle at G1 phase. It is also involved in phosphorylation of p21 and suppression of cdk2 (cyclin-dependent kinase 2) kinase activity by associating with cyclin E/cdk2/p21 complex, thereby regulating cell cycle. PKC? is upregulated in breast cancer and is associated with cell growth.
