General description
V5 is an amino coterminal protein consisting of a C-terminus cysteine-rich region that resembles a cysteine-rich metal binding domain. It is encoded by the "P" gene of the paramyxovirus SV5. The rabbit Anti-V5 synthetic peptide antibody reacts with V5 tagged recombinant fusion proteins expressed in transfected mammalian cells and from in vitro translation.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4 containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Specificity
Recognizes V5 Tag (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) fusion proteins
Storage and Stability
Store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Storage in “frost-free” freezers is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
