GDNF is a potential target for treating Parkinson?s disease.

General description

Glial cell derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 5p14.1?q13.3. It belongs to the transforming growth factor ? (TGF-?) superfamily. GDNF is abundantly found in gliomas.
