Presumptively identify?Salmonella?in selective and/or enrichment cultures with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Salmonella Test Kit. This rapid latex agglutination test is designed to deliver simple, rapid and sensitive results for the presence of?Salmonella?spp. in clinical, food and animal samples. The test utilizes latex particles sensitized with polyvalent antisera against the wide range of?Salmonellaflagellar antigens and can detect a majority of common Salmonella?species, including?Salmonella typhimurium?and?Salmonella enteritidis.

The genus?Salmonella?consists of over 2,400 serotypes that may cause acute infectious gastroenteritis frequently associated with food poisoning. Since many?Salmonella?species infect domestic animals, either clinically or subclinically, cases of?Salmonella?food poisoning usually originate from animal sources. Use this rapid, simple and sensitive test for identification of?Salmonella?spp. in clinical, food and animal samples.
