SN50 trifluoroacetate salt has been used as a nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-?B) inhibitor:to study its effects on the reactive oxygen species generation in human keratinocytesto analyze its effects on mRNA expression in the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) in hCMEC/D3 blood-brain barrier (BBB) cell lineto study its effects on macrophage polarization
Biochem/physiol Actions
SN50 is an NF-κB cell permeable inhibitory peptide. The SN50 sequence contains the nuclear localization sequence (NLS residues 360-369) of the transcription factor NFκB p50 linked to a peptide cell-permeabilization sequence, the hydrophobic region (h-region) of the signal peptide of Kaposi fibroblast growth factor (K-FGF). SN50 Peptide inhibits translocation of the NF-κB active complex into the nucleus.
