RSC133 is an epigenetic modulator that effectively enhances reprogramming of human somatic cells and maintenance of human stem cell pluripotency. Apparently, RSC133 facilitates the reprograming by dual inhibition of histone deacetylase and DNA methyltransferase activities. In hFFs, RSC133 rapidly activates pluripotency-associated genes Nanog, Oct4, and Rex1 up to 2- to 2.5-fold. RSC133 exerts positive effects on cell proliferation and ablates pro-senescence phenotypes.
