Application

For most in vitro applications, IL-12 exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 1.0 to 10.0 ng/mL.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The ED50 as determined by the induction of IFN-g production from NK cells co-stimulated with IL-18 was ≤ 1.0 ng/mL

General description

Product Source: CHO cells (Chinese Hamster Ovarian cells)

Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a potent regulator of cell mediated immune responses and it induces IFN-gamma production by NK and T cells. It is produced by activated monocytes/macrophage cells, B lymphocytes, and connective tissue type mast cells. Among its biological activities, IL-12 promotes the growth and activity of activated NK, CD4+ and CD8+ cells and induces the development of IFN-gamma producing Th1 cells. Human IL-12 is a disulfide linked heterodimeric protein with a molecular weight of 75 kDa comprised of disulfide-bonded 35 kDa (p35) and 40 kDa (p40) subunits.

Physical form

The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 0.5X PBS pH 7.2

Storage and Stability

The lyophilized IL-12, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstitute with sterile water to a concentration of 0.2 mg/mL. Reconstituted IL-12 should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C for up to 6 months.
