The safe seal homogeniser is supplied complete with a PTFE pestle, stainless steel handle and borosilicate glass mortar. The mortar is stoppered in PTFE to protect against splash back during the grinding process. As suggested in the Howie Report 1972 this is for preventing infection in clinical laboratories.
